چکیده

This paper proposes a novel power control policy for a cognitive radio network as an effort to maximize throughput under the average interference power constraint. The underlined policy ensures delay-related quality of service (QoS) requirements with reduced interference to the primary user. In this work we also take into account the peak and average transmit power constraints for the secondary user. An optimization problem associated with the power control policy is formulated based on a cross-layer framework, where the queue on data link layer is serviced by the power control policy at the physical layer. A recursive algorithm under the power constraints is developed to solve for the optimal solution. It is shown that the reduction of average interference to the primary user is related closely to the QoS requirements. The analysis derives the average interference power limits to the primary user in fading channels with guaranteed QoS requirements for the secondary user. The numerical results show the effectiveness of the proposed power control policy. 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Game Theoretic Analysis of Joint Rate and Power Allocation in Cognitive Radio Networks

Spectrum sharing is an essential enabling functionality to allow the coexistence between primary user (PU) and cognitive users (CUs) in the same frequency band. In this paper, we consider joint rate and power allocation in cognitive radio networks by using game theory. The optimum rates and powers are obtained by iteratively maximizing each CU’s utility function, which is designed to guarantee ...

A green radio resource allocation scheme for LTE-A downlink systems with CoMP transmission

In this paper, we propose a green radio resource allocation (GRRA) scheme for LTE-advanced downlink systems with coordinated multi-point (CoMP) transmission to support multimedia traffic. The GRRA scheme defines a green radio utility function, which is composed of the required transmission power, assigned modulation order, and the number of coordinated transmission nodes. By maximizing this uti...

Stackelberg Game for Resource Allocation with QoS and Fairness Assurance in Cognitive Radio Networks

This paper proposed a new Stackelberg game theoretic solution for joint power control and channel allocation in Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs). So, we formulate suitable revenue functions for SUs and PUs to manage the radio resource among users effic...

Hierarchal Grouping Strategy with Adaptive Power Tuning in ZigBee Wireless Sensor Networks

Designing wireless sensor networks should meet appropriate parameters such as quality of service (QoS) defined by different users. The variable physical conditions of the environment, processing and transmission power limitations and limited communication capabilities are the most important obstacles that influence QoS parameters such as throughput, delay, reliability and network lifetime. The ...
